ARIZONA PSYCHOANALYTIC SELF PSYCHOLOGY ASSOCIATION

The Arizona Psychoanalytic Self Psychology Association is a local affiliate of the  International Society for Psychoanalytic Self Psychology (IAPSP). Founded in 1958 to champion the work of Heinz Kohut, the IAPSP has expanded its interests to include Psychoanalysts from other relational perspectives. While self psychology is a theory based on psychoanalytic principles, psychoanalytic training is not in itself a prerequisite for membership.

Consistent with the purpose of our parent organization "we see our members as ambassadors for teaching, creating, and learning increasingly effective approaches to education, psychotherapy, and psychoanalysis." Locally we are committed to studying the Psychoanalytic relational theories through classes, meetings and direct connection with the national organization.

There is a one-time sign-up fee of $25, and NO monthly dues for continued membership.
